CMBA Trail Day 2 is this Saturday, June 19th!  Along with members of the Calgary Outdoor Club, you are welcome to join other CMBA members and volunteers for a day of trail maintenance, good conversations and a post-work BBQ.

Details:

There is still plenty of maintenance and polishing to do on the new Ridgeback trail.  We got a great start to that work at our last trail day two weeks ago and our first trail night just this past Monday.  Ridgeback trail is broken up into four different sections that intertwine with Tom Snow trail.  We will be working on the end of section 1 and the start of section 2 (around the purple dot on the map).  This is about 1.0 to 1.5 KM from the parking lot.  We will be walking from the parking lot to the work site.

No experience at trail building is necessary!  There will be plenty of experienced and trained Crew Leaders in attendance who you will be grouped with.  They will teach and guide you while you craft that perfect single track trail.

We like to get started promptly at 10AM, so please be on time.  We will work through to 3PM and then head back to the parking for a BBQ and post-work celebration.  As trail building work can be energy consuming, do bring water plus a snack or lunch to eat while out on the trail.

Be sure to bring/wear the following:

• Good sturdy work boots or hiking boots (no sandals or open toe shoes!)
• Work gloves (though we do have a number of extra if you need them)
• Eye protection (safety or sports sun glasses)
• Jacket that is wet weather resistant (it is June, and it can suddenly start raining or get cold fast)
• Long pants
• Bug spray and sun screen
• Water to drink and a snack to eat while out on the trail

We have plenty of pro-quality tools for everyone to use.

So come on out to our second trail building day of the year, meet some new people (and maybe old friends), have some fun, and help shape the trails that we all love to ride!  We'll see you this Saturday!
