CMBA Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day - July 10

Join the Calgary Mountain Bike Alliance and its partners for our 3rd annual Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day on July 10th.  This family-friendly event has activities for all age groups and skill levels.  This year we're at 2 locations in Calgary.  Join us at one or both!

 TaKMBD Part 1: Fish Creek Park - Votiers Flats (map): 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Join members of CMBA, Spin Sisters and The BaSE for a morning of rides, skills, swag and BBQs. Group rides are planned for 10:00 and 10:30 with a challenge course for the adventurous riders in all of us. See what CMBA is doing in Fish Creek and how you can help.

 At 11:30 join us for a free BBQ and prize giveaway thanks to our local sponsors and partners.

 TaKMBD Part 2: Canada Olympic Park (COP) (map): 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

For the adventurous, join us at COP thanks to Winsport Canada, Bow Cycle and other sponsors.  There will be games, group tours and skills workshops by COP Mountain Bike School.  Lift pass specials for CMBA members (you can buy CMBA memberships there!!!) plus test rides of the COP rental fleet as well as bikes from local shops will be available.  A final fun race for the kids will finish off the day of activities along with more swag giveaways.

 Special thanks to Pure Cycle, Ridley's, Cyclepath, MEC, BaSE, Spin Sisters, COP and Bow Cycle for sponsoring the 2011 TaKMBD.

 

Pure Cycle will be on hand at Fish Creek Park along with swag from Cyclepath and Ridley's Cycle. BaSE and Spin Sisters will be leading skills workshops for all ages. BBQ coutesy of CMBA and Fish Creek Park.

 

Bow Cycle and MEC will be on hand at COP with free mechanics, test bikes and plenty of giveaways. The COP Mountain Bike School will be leading tours, skills workshops and games for all ages.

CMBA members ride free at COP on TaKMBD

Never been to COP before or a long time ago?

 

The first 30 paid CMBA members will get a free pass to COP from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. You must check in at the CMBA table to receive to pass. Memberships are available online or at the booth. COP will have 2 instructors available for the day teaching basic and advanced skills.

 

At 1:30. 2:30 and 3:30 we will has a balance skills competition at the CMBA tent and a final door prize raffle at 4:00pm.
