Special Ops Update - Location Confirmed

CMBA Special Ops Crew Lead Training will take place in Fish Creek Park on May 28.

Course Location: Fish Creek Environmental Learning Center, Fish Creek Provincial Park, Calgary [13931 Woodpath Road, S.W.]

Date: Saturday, May 28

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Note: Lunch [sandwiches and cold drinks] will be provided.  Participants must be CMBA members to take the course.  Memberships are only $20, and are available online or at the start of the course.

 The course will run in Fish Creek, but the trails you'll be able to work on include Ridgeback, Moosepackers and the 40km of NEW TRAIL going in at West Bragg Creek.  There will also be opportunities to work on the Fish Creek, 12 Mile Coulee and Bowmont Park trails.

Work, school, having your child kidnapped by armed thugs, bake sales...  We all have major drains on our time, and although you want to get out to work on the trails, it's often difficult to fit it into your schedule.  Hopefully, Special Ops can help. 

CMBA will train you on how to build and maintain trail.  No previous skills are required; if you can pick up a tool, you can do it.  After that, we'll sign tools out to you and give you a chunk of trail to work on, plus a copy of the TFA [so you don't get in trouble with the Conservation Officers].  Grab a few friends/family and go to work.  We'll check on your progress and give advice/help where needed. 

No schedules other than your own, work as much or as little as you want.  Ideally, snap a few before/after photos and post/e-mail them to us so we can keep track of what's been done.
