Singletrack Snob

I never thought I'd refer to any type of singletrack as bad but that's exactly what I did when riding Nose Hill this week.  Maybe it was the seven months of winter eroding my skills but I took two nose dives pulling sessions on a nice coulee.  On the third run down this particular trail, it occured to me that the entire trail has been eroded from water running down the centre creating a 10-15cm trough.  I had been nipping at the edge of the trough walls and losing control of my front wheel in the turn.  Then, of course I started asking myself how the trail got this way and why would someone design it like that.  The only answers I could muster were 'Water born erosion' and 'Someone who didn't think about water born erosion'.  Calgary (and area) has fantastic mountain biking terrain with tons of badly designed trails.  I'm tired of it, it's time for a change.
