MORE!
If you are joining us at the Trail Day, please bring/wear the following (we will provide tools):
- Good sturdy work boots or hiking boots (no sandals or open toe shoes!)
- Work gloves
- Eye protection (safety or sports sun glasses)
- Jacket that is wet weather resistant
- Long pants
- Bug spray and sun screen
- Water to drink and a snack to eat while out on the trail
A picnic lunch, sponsored by Bow Cycle, will be provided at the end of the Trail Day.
If we need to cancel the Trail Day due to weather, we will post a notice on our website Friday night.
You may have heard about the upcoming Jump Jam Fundraiser on June 18 for the Canadian Rockies Mountain Bike Fest. We’ve been given two free entries to pass on to our awesome volunteers! We have one entry for the wee ones in the Kid Goat category [run bike or pedal bike], and a second entry that can be used in one of the other three categories [U18, 18+, Expert all ages]. Anyone who comes out to volunteer on the June 11 trail day is eligible for a chance to win one of the entries. We’ll see you there!
Join us on Saturday June 11 and build some new trails (blue lines) to provide a route around the storm water treatment facilities and connect the west Bowmont trails to the east Bowmont trails.
No experience at trail building is necessary! There will be plenty of experienced and trained Crew Leaders in attendance who you will be grouped with. They will teach and guide you while you craft that perfect single track trail. We have plenty of pro-quality tools for everyone to use. As trail building work can be energy consuming, do bring water plus a snack to eat while out on the trail.
Please meet us at 9:00 am – we will get everybody signed in, do a safety demonstration and get started shortly after. There is plenty of parking on 40th Avenue NW (near the west end, where it intersects with Varsity Road). Walk down the gravel pathway and look for the orange CMBA tent at the meeting spot. If you are biking, you can ride directly to the meeting spot.
So come on out to do some trail building , meet some new people (and maybe old friends), have some fun, and help shape the trails that we all love to ride! We will provide a picnic lunch at the end of the Trail Day (about 1:00 pm). If you can join us, please register on Eventbrite.
