Trail Conditions June 1
Trail conditions are improving despite the weather. Anything at higher elevation is still going to have snow, such as JP/Cox, Elbow Loop, Misty Range, etc. Are trails wet? Yes, and they’ll likely stay that way until we get an extended stretch of dry weather. New-ish trails, such as Boundary Ridge in West Bragg Creek are still pretty soft. We could see people coming out of that area with muddy bikes today. Older trails are looking much better, including such classics as Prairie View / Jewell Pass and Powderface [short loop]. In Calgary, Eastlands is apparently in somewhat rough shape, with lots of greasy sections. Fish Creek, Bowmont, 12 Mile, Nose Hill should be better.
Regardless of where you go, expect to encounter mud. It’s spring in Calgary after all.
