CMBA at the Canmore World Cup & 24 Hours Of Adrenalin

On the July 8/9th weekend several members of CMBA attended the World Cup mountain bike race at Canmore to erect and man our display tent, once again to try and increase the public awareness of CMBA and our goals, and to increase our membership base. Although membership didn't sky-rocket as a result of our efforts, we did have some fun and also got invited by the 24 Hours of Adrenalin folks to come out to Canmore again on Saturday July 22 and 23 to display our wares in their Expo area at the Nordic Centre.

Anyway, the most interesting and important part of the 24 Hours was that two corporate teams from Calgary (Slick Rock University, Varsity #1 and Junior Varsity #2 teams) were operating a "Wheel of Fortune" type prize wheel. For a buck, you could spin the wheel, (usually) win a prize and all of the proceeds were donated to CMBA. We would really like to thank these two teams and its members for their initiative and creativeness in helping us raise some more money for trails in and around Calgary. The teams were sponsored by Maryn International (Lubricants) makers of Big Rock Chain Oil, Bow Cycle, Cardel Homes Red Bull Energy Drink, Nu Way Rentals and Big Rock Bikes.
