Diamond-T bridge repair is complete
Updated 16/06/2014: The bridge is open for business!
Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development (ESRD) are ramping up their Backcountry Trail Flood Rehabilitation Program and have had their crew out assessing the flood damage to trails along Highway 66. Recognizing the heavy usage of the Diamond-T bridge (and with some encouragement from CMBA) they have decided to repair this bridge immediately rather than add it to the list for prioritization.
The bridge is the first one north of Station Flats, near the start of the Ridgeback and Tom Snow trails. The crew are hoping to start work on the bridge this Monday (June 2) and hope to have it ready to go by next weekend. In the meantime, be prepared for a little disruption.
Updated 2/6/14: The Diamond T Trail will be CLOSED from Station Flats to the Tom Snow junction for safety reasons during construction. The west side of the Diamond-T loop will remain open.
