President's report for 06

by Kip Keylock

Greetings to all and hope this report finds you tired after a great year of biking. As our weather seems to have turned on us for real, this may be a good time to regroup, evaluate our past year, and get ready for our new year ahead.

We have several items that we would like to share with all our members and those new groups / individuals, that have joined the "cause". Our reps have updates going on our site, regarding agendas for Nose Hill, Bowmont, and 12 Mile Coulee. Add to this, the proposed Dirt Jump Park information, and you will see that many in CMBA’s ranks have kept busy lately. Please look for these in the next week or so.

We have agreed to hold our AGM Feb / Mar, as we have done in the past, and will ask all to please keep in touch on the location and events that will go along with the meeting. It will prove to be an important one and two of us are stepping down from our responsibilities this year. Both Glenn and myself are finding it more difficult to give the positions the time and effort they require with both of us out of town as frequently as we are. We will be looking for a new President, and Advocacy Director at the AGM and are asking all to give thought to who you may feel would / could help out in these positions. We will also review the positions that need help and will ask if you can contribute even "some" time to an area, or project, to please consider the task.

Our last general meeting was held Nov 11th and we were able to discuss with those there, updates and info as to what CMBA has been able to accomplish to date, and future matters that will require our attention. We realize the nature of this volunteer group has been one of advocacy this past while, and we certainly appreciate all the time and efforts of the members that have dedicated this time to a very worthy cause. We would also like to express our thanks to the various groups, and Municipal and Provincial departments that have included CMBA in the communications and issues that have arisen. As a group, we are grateful to call on our membership to help in areas that we can.

Please continue to give your support to CMBA by way of time and energy. This is what we can offer collectively, and will hopefully do so in days to come.
