MS Bike Charity Ride – Canmore Nordic Centre
While many charity rides are focused on road cyclists, there’s at least one this summer for us mountain bikers. The Johnson MS Bike – Canmore ride hits the trails on the weekend of Aug. 22-23 from the Canmore Nordic Centre. Unlike other events at the CNC where you do the same loop over and over again, the MS ride has two different routes that you can choose depending on how much of a challenge you want.
Lesley Oosterhoff, Development Coordinator for the Calgary & Area chapter of the MS Society of Canada, has this to say about the event:
Join us in Canmore for a great weekend of mountain biking out of the Canmore Nordic Centre. With different routes for all skill levels to choose from, you will have the opportunity to pedal to the limits while being supported by friends and family. After an adrenaline filled day of riding, join us for dinner and drinks while looking onto the mountains you just conquered. Sleep well, because Day Two has more of this world class cycling through the Canmore mountains! Celebrate your accomplishments with a finish line BBQ with other cyclists, volunteers, and supporters.
Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy a weekend full of mountain biking while making a difference in the lives of individuals impacted by MS! Join us for an incredible experience you will never forget! Create a team by encouraging family, friends, and coworkers to join you or pledge you on your ride. Register at msbike.ca
The minimum fundraising requirements for the MS Bike are really low – only $295. Any contributions $20 and over are eligible for a charitable tax receipt, and funds raised in Alberta stay in Alberta. The MS rides are always a lot of fun, well organized and have lots of yummy food. You should check it out!
