Summer Solstice Trail Day June 21st

When: Sunday, June 21, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  Please try to be on time.  This event goes rain or shine!  If you're running late, just go directly to the work site.

Where: Meet at the Station Flats parking area.  From there we will walk Northeast ~1km to the actual work site, just beyond the intersection of Diamond T and Tom Snow.

What we’ll be doing:  This will be the first of the trails that will become the bypass route for most of Tom Snow.  The plan is to build single-track trail through the woods.  That sounds like fun!

Why:  After years and years of riding through the mix of mud and cow poop that develops on Tom Snow every year, we'll have an alternate route.

What to Bring:  We'll be in the woods, so wear appropriate clothing.  We recommend sturdy work boots or hiking boots, work gloves, long pants and a jacket.  Dress for the weather.  Bring enough water for the day and some lunch.  Remember - anything you pack in, you also need to pack out, including any recyclables or trash.  CMBA will be providing some tools, but if you have a favorite chainsaw, mattock, Pulaski, rake or McLeod, feel free to bring it.  Shovels will not be needed.

Who:  Trail Building Lead for the day is Rob Irwin, he will be giving the safety/ZoD talk and providing direction.  He will also have waivers.  We'll need a couple of extra Trail Crew Leaders, and we'll be asking for volunteers on Sunday.  You can also volunteer in advance by sending an e-mail to info@cmbalink.comwith the subject "Crew Leader", or posting a comment here.
