A picture is worth 1000 words.

The yellow line is where I should have gone.  This is a sign that I should no longer ride Baldy.  Also, getting the stinkeye from about 30 hikers on the way down doesn't enhance my user experience.  Somehow I still managed to beat two of my group back to Barrier, but that has more to do with my ability to ride well on the highway than it does with my had technical skillz.
