The CMBA Responsibility Code

Know and observe the code. It's your responsibility.

  1. Yield to other users.
User conflicts are real and serious issues.
Slow down and be polite when passing.

  2. Use City Parks for lower intensity rides.
Protection of the environment, and safety take priority.
These trails are not for high intensity training.

  3. Ride within your ability.
    Avoid skidding your tires.
Skidding causes plant damage and soil movement, which leads to water erosion.

  4. Avoid Steep Trails.
IMBA Trail Guidelines suggest 30% (~15°) absolute max.

  5. Obey trail closures.
They are done to rehabilitate an area or because of bird nesting or wildlife use.

  6. Stay on the existing open trails.

  7. Avoid riding at times (or in areas) where there are scheduled or posted nature walks, or during muddy trail conditions.
