Bowmont Park Open House

Cyclists are being under-represented at the Open House.
We need you to show up and voice your opinion.

The last open house regarding the recently drafted Bowmont Park Natural Area Management Plan will be held this Thursday, 6:00pm - 9:00pm, with a presentation at 7:00pm at the Varsity Community Centre, 4303 Varsity Dr. NW.

We need your support. There are people that want to stop you from cycling on the dirt trails in Bowmont. We need you to come out and let the City know that there are responsible cyclists who support the multi-use policies as written in the draft plan.

2001 Annual General Meeting

Bring a Friend

CMBA is having it's AGM this year on April 23 at Brewsters Brewing Company & Restaurant (834 11 Ave SW) at 7:00pm.

We are focusing on members and memberships this year. Our theme for the AGM is Bring a Friend.

Aside from wanting to increase our membership and visibility we have an aggressive summer program that will require many willing bodies.

It is critical to mountain biking in Calgary that we have the support of the cycling community this year.

Come to the AGM and bring a friend.

Art Mode Gallery has donated a door prize.
You can't win unless you're there (and a paid up member).

We will be presenting:

  • The summer ride schedule
  • Nose Hill Park Demonstration Trail Update
  • Bowmont Park Update

Why should you get involved?

  • Riding - There are individuals and groups that want to stop you from cycling in the Kananaskis, Bragg Creek and Calgary's natural areas. CMBA has been and will continue to be the voice of reason to keep trails open for cycling.

  • Education - CMBA is very active in educating riders and the public in user impacts on natural areas, trail etiquette, sustainable trail development and environmental protection. This is a growing and important part of our mandate.

  • Making it Better - CMBA believes in putting back more than you take. We are very active in education; trail maintenance and the creation and development of environmentally sensitive, sustainable trail networks.
