Moose Mountain
Moose Mountain Trail Project Forum, November 3rd
This is your chance to help in the development of new trail projects!
CMBA will be holding a Moose Mountain Trail Discussion Forum Monday, November 3rd at 7:00pm at the University of Calgary (Science Theaters Building, room ST145).
The goal of the forum will be to present ideas and gather feedback so as to know which trail project ideas we have popular backing on prior to further discussions between CMBA and Sustainable Resources Development.
Final clean up on Moose Mountain, Sunday, September 28th
The final clean up of Jean Guy on Moose Mountain is scheduled for Sunday, September 28th at 12:00 noon. There will be a BBQ and draw prizes from Pinkbike, COP and Calgary Cycle. Bring gloves and something to haul out wood, like an old backpack, bungies and/or straps. Watch the website for updates as details get finalized.
More work on Moose Mountain, Wednesday, August 27th
Trail-work on the deconstruction of Jean-Guy is more than half complete. We will meet again on Wednesday at 7:00pm, at the top parking lot at the end of Moose Mountain Road. We will then head down to where most of the stunts were just below the trailhead to do a few more hours of work. Most of the remainning work will involve hiking-out the remaining foreign lumber. If you have compression straps (3 to 4 feet long), they are ideal for strapping the wood together for carry-out. Otherwise bring some good shoes/boots, refreshments and you'll be set.
For those who did not come out on Sunday afternoon, but are thinking of lending a hand, I can say that you missed a great day. We got lots done and had a great time doing it. The after party/BBQ in the parking-lot capped it off nicely.
Moose Mountain trail day and BBQ, Sunday August 24th
We will be meeting at the top parking lot of Moose Mountain Look-out Road at 1:00pm on Sunday, August 24th. The goal will be to take apart as much of the stunts on upper Jean-Guy as possible and to hike the foreign lumber out. Tools you should bring are hammer and/or pry-bar, leather gloves, back-pack, shoes, and a smile.
We will work for 4 hours, quit at 5:00 and have a BBQ. There will be hotdogs and buns and condiments will be provided. You can also cook your own meat if you so choose. So bring a friend or two and come on out.
