KTAG notes and more

No rest for the wicked!  [Note: KTAG = Kananaskis Trails Advisory Group; TPR = Alberta Tourism Parks and Recreation]

1.  There might be another round of NTC funding. Maybe.  This fund is partially where Ridgeback came from, so it's a good thing.

Reminder - SLS Open House, January 26

This is just a quick reminder to attend the Spray Lakes Sawmills [SLS] open house on January 26 [tomorrow] in the Bragg Creek Community Centre.  The purpose of the open house is for you to ask SLS about the planned clear cut logging in West Bragg creek, potentially affecting 90% of the summer and winter trails there.

For more information, please visit the Sustain Kananaskis website. You can also sign the petition to stop the clearcuts.

Thanks!

Attend the SLS Open House - Jan 26

2011 - The Year That Was

The CMBA had a pretty darn good 2011, thanks to lots of hard work from lots of people [mostly YOU]:

Major Growth in 2011

We experienced a surge in membership this year with 154 people signing up to support the trails (compared to 76 in 2010).  We say it often, but it bears repeating: THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

A Year of Fun Events

We had quite a few events happen away from the trails...

Cyclepath Club Night - On a frosty January evening, Cyclepath opened its doors and fed us sandwiches and beer, plus gave us sweet deals on bike stuff.  Thanks guys!

Double Header Film Festival - Held at the Uptown Theatre on May 1, we had a great turnout.  Look for the 2012 movie night at a new venue...

CMBA Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day - Kids and bikes go great together, and seeing all those happy faces is simply wonderful.  We'll be doing it again in 2012!
