Local Trail Conditions – May 18 2014
A few updates on Calgary and area trail conditions [trail conditions vary daily, and this is a summary of first-hand knowledge, rumour and innuendo – YMMV]:
Eastlands, 12 Mile Coulee and Bowmont Park: Up until today’s rain, dry as a popcorn fart. Should be absolutely brilliant by Wednesday afternoon.
Fish Creek: Still a wee bit of snow on the heavily-treed north-facing slopes, but by the middle of next week should be pretty nice with the occasional surprise bog.
Bragg Creek: No, not even close.
Canmore: Good feedback on Benchlands trails. Expect some wetness, but things are shaping up well. In theory, Highline should be good to go, although expect moisture in the usual spots. Canmore Nordic Centre has some good and some bad. Give it more time.
Banff: Tunnel Mountain trails are shaping up well, and Minnewanka should be good to go. Stoney Squaw unlikely to be good.
Invermere: Good, but check with the local shops about what to ride.
Golden: Improving steadily. Moonrakers and Mountain Shadows should be okay, but check with the local shops before making the drive
We’ll keep updates coming as often as we hear more news. Feel free to send us info as you get it…

Eastlands in Calgary is fantastic. A couple wet spots, but they are isolated to the deep creeks.
Mountain Shadows was okay on Sat last weekend, but Sunday was a wee bit muddier. They have had lots of rain in Golden.
