1998
CMBA volunteers joined by a few pathway users reclaimed the strip of escarpment land from Glenmore Landing to the Big H by Heritage Park. We closed approximately twenty short-cuts between the paved pathway and the gravel pathway closer to the waters edge. On the closed trails we spread a truckload of top soil and seeded it. Then we carried driftwood from the waters edge and scattered it on each trail in an endeavor to render the trails unusable. We installed signs which were provided by Calgary Parks & Rec. (as was the loam and clay gravel mix) at each closed trail asking people to use the rehabilitated trails. On one trail near the big H we built a series of stramps - sort of ramp stairs - to make the path easier for pedestrians coming from the paved pathway to the parking lot. We also pruned shrubs and trees for the entire length of the gravel pathway at the waters edge.

1997
CMBA volunteers built about two city blocks of pathway at the east end of Southland Drive. LaFarge generously donated all of the clay gravel mix and the truck driver managed to do running dumps of about four loads which made spreading the gravel much easier for the volunteers.
