We’re excited to announce that CMBA has just kicked off construction of a brand new trail in Kananaskis.  Core CMBA volunteers and Alberta Forestry and Parks staff have been out several times over the past two weeks clearing trees, deadfall and vegetation from the first 2km of the trail corridor (to avoid disturbance of nesting birds during their breeding and nesting season).

Having only just received approval to begin construction, we’re still working on a schedule for volunteer trail days & evenings over the next few months. We’re also laying longer-term plans for the phased construction of the two complete loops, which we expect will take 2 to 3 years to complete. More information about the project can be found here.
